Paid Search Strategist

Role Overview
Gradient Media Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Paid Search Strategist to lead and optimize our paid search initiatives. This role is crucial for driving performance across various platforms, ensuring strategic alignment, fostering continuous improvement and client relationship management.
What You’ll Do:
- Client Strategy: Develop, implement, and oversee the overall paid search program strategy for your clients. This includes defining key objectives, conducting incrementality and attribution testing, and setting benchmarks for channel performance and innovation.
- Campaign Development & Execution:
- Lead the end-to-end launch of paid search campaigns, encompassing comprehensive keyword research and expansion, compelling ad copy development and A/B testing, and meticulous tracking setup.
- Provide clear instructions and QA for tracking implementation across all relevant tools and platforms.
- Ongoing Campaign Management & Optimization:
- Manage and optimize campaigns across Search, Google Display Network, YouTube, Performance Max and App campaigns
- Negative keyword management, placement and category exclusions, conflicting negatives, keyword expansion, product exclusions
- Budget & Bid Management:
- Maintain diligent oversight of daily budget tracking to ensure monthly spending aligns with projected targets and pacing.
- Develop and implement data-driven bid rule strategies and conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly bid optimizations at the campaign, ad group, and keyword levels.
- Testing & Innovation:
- Design and execute rigorous A/B tests for keywords, ad copy, and landing pages to maximize performance.
- Actively participate in the evaluation and testing of new beta features and third-party vendor tools.
- Client Communication & Relationship Management:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, demonstrating excellent communication skills via email and video calls with little oversight.
- Cultivate strong, collaborative working relationships with clients, taking full accountability for program successes and addressing challenges proactively.
- Reporting, Analysis & Insights:
- Utilize various reporting, analytics, and trend tools daily to monitor campaign performance.
- Track and report on key campaign results, conduct in-depth data analysis, and present findings during weekly client calls.
- Effectively prioritize efforts to focus on high-impact initiatives that drive the most significant results.
- Industry Expertise & Thought Leadership:
- Stay abreast of the latest developments, trends, and best practices within the Google and Microsoft Ads ecosystems.
- Proactively vet and recommend new opportunities and innovative solutions to clients.
- Stay updated on AI-driven automation and industry advancements to refine strategies.
What You’ll Need:
- 4+ years experience in Paid Search, working in Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and Google Analytics/GA4
- Experience managing media budgets of $100k+ per month
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from performance data
- Experience presenting to senior level stakeholders, inclusive of effectively communicating high level strategy and recommendations
- Google Ads Certifications
- Ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and campaigns simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Slides, Sheets, Docs) and Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with App campaign tracking and mobile measurement partners (Appsflyer, Adjust, etc.)
- Experience with feed management partners (Feedonomics, DataFeedWatch, etc…)
- General knowledge of paid social platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit)
Hiring Salary Range:
- $80,000-$100,000
- Discretionary End of Year Bonus
