Gunn | Jerkens—a creative branding and marketing firm headquartered in Long Beach, California—is seeking a Paid Media Specialist with a primary focus on researching, planning, and buying media for our clients as well as collaborating with a third-party digital media execution partner.

Paid Media Specialist
The Paid Media Specialist will develop and effectively execute media plans and ad buys that reach target audiences across digital and traditional media platforms in conjunction with larger marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating and implementing media schedules driven by performance analytics and based on client KPIs and budgets.
- Monitor media placements to make ongoing and proactive optimization recommendations (based on results), with the ability to present findings to account teams and clients, when needed.
- Proactively seek media opportunities for new and existing clients.
- Maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors to maximize media effectiveness, which includes targeting refinements and negotiating optimal rates and placements on behalf of clients.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to implement a variety of digital campaigns which include a mix of email marketing, display, native, paid social, paid search, geo-fencing, streaming audio and CCTV/OTT.
- Collaborate with internal departments to develop marketing campaigns from the concept stage through to their execution and implementation.
- Assist in managing multiple programmatic campaigns. Optimize bidding, creative updates, targeting, and URL scrubbing.
- Oversee, review, approve and provide feedback on media content, plans, client presentations and media reporting, and be prepared to participate in client meetings and presentations.
- Effectively manage media vendor invoices, billing and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with account team to ensure all assets, strategies, goals and timelines are met.
- Offer solutions and/or new tools to improve media planning/buying processes.
- Keep up with digital ad and media trends to enhance client offerings and take Gunn | Jerkens media to the next level.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- 4-5 years in digital media planning/buying or similar roles.
- Expert knowledge of digital media platforms and metrics.
- Prior experience managing and optimizing digital advertising campaigns using Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Strong analytical, project management, and negotiation skills.
- Able to manage multiple campaigns and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite.
- Must reside within commuting distance of Long Beach, CA, and be available to work in the office five days a week.
- Confident, positive attitude, and ability to problem solve.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Marketing and advertising agency experience is a plus.
