We are assisting a rapidly growing retail marketing business in the US in their search for a new Media Director. This role reports directly to the MD.
About the Role
The Media Director will lead and develop the US Media Services team from the ground up. Responsibilities include strategy, proposition ownership, and media operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy and Proposition Ownership: Develop market-leading, data-driven advertising solutions for brand advertisers, leveraging retail partners' unique selling points to attract additional ad investment.
- Commercial Leadership: Oversee North American paid media revenue streams, maximize profitability, and ensure sustainable income growth.
- Organizational Leadership: Build and manage a team, assess skills and structure, and oversee career management.
- Partner Management: Cultivate relationships with media owners and Ad Tech partners to foster beneficial collaborations.
- Campaign Planning: Create detailed, data-driven media plans for clients.
- Advertising Operations: Supervise the execution and optimization of paid media campaigns.
- Go-to-Market & Media Consultancy Support: Present media capabilities to clients and stakeholders, providing expert advice.
- Marketing and PR: Enhance the visibility of the new service area and participate in industry events.
- Team Development: Ensure the team has the necessary skills to succeed.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience in Programmatic and Paid Social, with both strategic and operational expertise.
- Proven success in driving business growth in a fast-paced environment.
- Practical, analytical, and visionary skills, with the ability to manage both big-picture and detailed aspects.
- Experience in developing data-driven advertising solutions for brands.
- Ability to handle ambiguity and the challenges of establishing new market capabilities.
- Expertise in influencing senior stakeholders and simplifying complex retail media concepts.
- Experience in coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with proficiency in data and financial reporting.
