Role Summary

The Sr Manager, Paid Media will be responsible for leading the strategy and execution of integrated paid media campaigns across multiple channels in support of Rivian’s marketing initiatives. You will be responsible for building this discipline from the ground up, introducing the systems and processes that allow Rivian to scale. You have a deep knowledge and passion for paid media advertising and keen understanding of the media landscape. You are well versed in analytics, insight and measurement.

Responsibilities

  • Build the paid media team at Rivian, providing dedicated leadership and day-to-day management of all campaigns while the discipline and team take shape.
  • Manage external agencies evaluating when and what parts of the functions should be brought in-house.
  • Manage and execute paid distribution of full-funnel advertising campaigns across such tactics as paid search, paid social, digital display, direct mail, television, radio and out of home – all in a data-driven and efficient manner.
  • Envision and execute a paid media strategy and drive impactful programs that generate awareness and drive demand.
  • Manage and optimize budget allocation across paid media channels to maximize ROI.
  • Provide accurate and timely budget forecasts, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Collaborating with internal teams, create custom measurement and performance reports focusing on key metrics and business drivers.
  • Provide feedback on creative brief development based on past performance, proposed tactics and landscape opportunities.
  • Work with in-house creative team to execute day-to-day audience, creative and copy optimization within campaigns.
  • Track, analyze and report data from campaigns to uncover insights and refine and optimize both the media plan and the campaign creative.
  • You are entrepreneurial, flexible, and can roll up your sleeves to help pick up on work – no task it too small.
  • You’re a data-obsessed storyteller, educating the broader organization on what works and most importantly, why it works by gathering and synthesizing data.
  • Instill an experimental mindset across your team and partners, continuously optimize and test to achieve business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience working in media planning, buying and executing across multiple platforms at a brand, publisher, agency or similar.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing large-scale paid media campaigns, preferably within the automotive or technology sectors.
  • Comfortable managing multiple campaigns and large budgets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams internal and external agencies with strong organizational and project management expertise.
  • Fluency in paid advertising platforms (Google Ads/Meta) and analytics (Google Analytics / Tableau).
  • Impeccable briefing skills, strong communication skills (written and verbal) and a proven track record of highly effective collaboration.
  • Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and the ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
