JOB TITLE: Social Media Strategist

JOB LOCATION: Chicago, IL OR Portland, OR

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1o8 is searching for a nimble, self-motivated Social Media Strategist to help make and deploy great organic and paid social for national brands. We are looking for someone who is confident both creating content and knowing where and how to deploy it best. The Social Media Strategist will manage the client's social content plans, create and execute a publishing strategy on multiple platforms, and research and present strategic content recommendations when necessary. The majority of this work will be done during Central Time business hours, however clients and employees are distributed nationwide.

• Effectively create and manage content and schedule/publish for client social media
• Directly engage with consumers on client channels like Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, etc. if/when in scope
• Use Web and Social Listening for trending content, conversations, topics, events, and news
• Real-time Monitoring of social channels to identify strategic opportunities and flag potential issues
• Troubleshooting account issues promptly and thoroughly
• Creating content and/or copy for social posts and Google ads as needed
• Keeping up with the latest social media strategy, tools, and trends, which may include research projects and attending events or workshops
• Executing and presenting social media audits for multiple brands
• Creating social media calendars and scheduling posts for multiple brands
• Assist with paid social media strategy and implementation
• Assisting with B2B marketing initiatives
• Be client facing, on camera, on calls, able to speak off the cuff to client questions and lead discussions in your area of expertise
• Writing blog posts and/or newsletters if/when needed
• Collaborate with cross functional teams like SEO and Performance to integrate social media efforts into broader marketing campaigns & strategy
• Provide training and guidance to internal and client teams as-needed on best practices and industry trends/insights
• Utilize analytics tools for consistent reporting to recommend actionable recommendations and strategic insights for continuous improvement
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-5+ years experience in professional social media strategy and management
• Skilled with social media paid performance data analysis and strategy
• Excellent copywriting and copyediting skills in English
• Proficient and detail-oriented multitasker
• Proficiency with Instagram and Facebook (functionally and strategically) and highly experienced with other social media channels Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, YouTube, and TikTok.
• Experience with affiliate marketing preferred but not required
• Proficient in social media tools such as Buffer, HubSpot, Hootsuite, etc.

LOCATION: This team member needs to be located in-market for one of 1o8's offices (Portland, OR or Chicago, IL). Most work is done remotely, but there are occasional in-person shoots and events.

SALARY RANGE: The salary range for this role is $60-70,000. Relocation budget is not provided.
