Overview Manager of Brand Media & Public Relations
Essential Function: The Manager of Brand Media & Public Relations, Sally Beauty is responsible for flawless execution of Sally Beauty's brand building activations and efforts to drive new customer acquisition, brand awareness, and omnichannel traffic to Sally Beauty across North America. This seasoned marketer has experience with media buying for both traditional and digital channels, brand partnerships, events, large scale consumer activations, and traditional public relations. This role will work closely with internal teams and external agency partners to drive best-in-class execution of campaigns and activations, under the guidance of the Sr Manager, Brand Strategy and Sr Director, Brand Strategy. This position reports to the corporate office in Denton Texas on Tuesdays and Weds each week, working remotely the rest of the work week.
Primary Duties
Brand Media Planning & Execution
- In partnership with Paid Media teams and Agency of Record, develop and own brand media spend and campaigns including but not limited to Paid Social (Tiktok, Pinterest, Meta, Snap), Display, Radio, OOH, CTV/OLV.
- Financial ownership and accountability of working-media dollars allocated towards brand building campaigns, including invoice and budget management.
- Responsible for creative briefing, trafficking, and full execution of internal team needs to support agency in media buying and campaign go-live.
- Daily/Weekly Optimization and analysis of campaigns to deliver and surpass forecasted goals in partnership with agency.
- Proven ability to execute cross-functional campaigns with an integrated Mindset across PR, Social, and Influencer Marketing.
Public Relations, Brand Partnerships, Events and Brand Activations
- Manage day-to-day communications with PR agency to support media requests, interviews, speaking opportunities, award submissions, and more.
- Bring the Sally brand to life through well executed media events, partnerships, and consumer activations in partnership with PR agency.
- Oversee event planning & execution and manage brand partnerships from start to finish.
- Liaise with agency to ensure all messaging and talking points are approved and on brand through cross-functional partnership.
- Strong writing skills and attention to grammar required.
- Support quarterly planning with creative thinking and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners across the organization to ensure 360 storytelling from a PR & Brand Media perspective
Media and Marketing Reporting/Analytics
- Analyze and oversee monthly and weekly reporting
- Stay on top of industry trends, measurement, and best practices
- Manage monthly planning presentations
- Support special projects and new initiatives as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must have 5-7 years of brand marketing experience for a large-scale brand (beauty industry preferred, or retail/ CPG) focusing on media and/or public relations
- Bachelor's degree or above in Marketing, Media, Public Relations, Communications, and/or similar field
- Expert content knowledge of media and public relations best practices, trends, and measurement
- Marketing and Paid Media Metrics and Analytics Knowledge Required
- Proactive communicator, problem solver, and strategic thinker required
- Social media savvy, always staying on top of new trends and features
- Clear communication and timeliness liaising between agencies and Company
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with strong attention to detail

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
