Artemis is seeking a Digital Media Buyer to be a part of a dynamic team working across a range of federal government strategic communications, advertising and outreach programs. If you live and breathe digital marketing, we want to talk to you.

The ideal candidate is both creatively minded and performance driven. Applicants should have proven experience in paid digital advertising including programmatic, social and search, and an aptitude for analyzing data and identifying performance trends. This individual collaborates with client teams to develop paid media plans across all digital marketing channels based on clients’ strategic goals and target audiences. The Digital Media Buyer develops, implements, tracks and optimizes digital marketing campaigns across all digital channels. This position requires experience with digital marketing, DSPs and web analytics. Traditional media planning experience is a plus.

This is a contingent hire position.

  • Understand client goals and develop measurable digital marketing strategies and appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve them.
  • Research, plan, implement and optimize programmatic digital buys within our DSP
  • Plan, execute and optimize digital advertising campaigns using multiple social media platforms including Facebook Business Manager
  • Conduct media, industry, and audience research to develop compelling, accurate and targeted advertising and marketing plans.
  • Be the day-to-day contact for media vendors and aid in the management of general media department solicitations.
  • Track campaign performance against established KPIs for all active campaigns and optimize regularly to drive achievement of campaign objectives including recruitment campaigns and other potential conversions.
  • Understand conversion and event tracking data in Google Ads and Google Analytics.
  • Support new business and proposal efforts with paid media research and content.
  • Present digital media recommendations to clients.
  • Cross-reference and approve media invoices to be processed and ensure timely payment.
  • Issue purchase orders for approved media insertion or placement, and maintain/update as needed
  • Conduct buying, negotiating, implementation, and optimization across multiple campaigns and clients on an ongoing basis.
  • Seek new digital advertising opportunities to stay ahead of the curve, enhance individual/team/client learning, and improve client campaigns.

Minimum of 4 years experience in hands-on digital media planning and buying experience (ad agency or internal marketing role across paid digital advertising channels including social, search, native and programmatic display (including audio and video)).

Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Experience with programmatic advertising and Demand Side Platforms (DSP).

Experience supporting complex marketing projects and outreach marketing efforts within the federal government, preferably the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Excellent leadership skills.

Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.

Excellent ability to communicate across most mediums and settings.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Knowledge on how to navigate the structures of VHA Communications and OPIA to complete high-yield deliverables.

An excellent understanding of how to track and report key performance indicators from social media channels and websites.

DSP buying experience required (Centro/Basis preferred).

Management of paid social media campaigns using Facebook Business Manager, Twitter Ads and other social channels.

Working understanding of Google Tag Manager, use of Ad tags, event tracking and conversion optimization.

Experience running SEM campaigns through Google and Bing.

Experience with emerging digital media including digital audio streaming and Connected TV.

Established relationships with vendors and a proven track record of receiving added value on purchases.

Mastery of web analytics tools, such as Google Analytics. Google Analytics and Ads certification preferred.

Exceptional analytical, data interpretation, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities

Implementing PPC advertising campaigns and SEO best practices.

Monitoring SEM analytics such as redirects, click rates, and customer acquisition rates.

Managing and adjusting PPC budgets to ensure maximum efficiencies.

Generating performance reports and analytics for presentation and review.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to carry out multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Strong time management, creativity and problem-solving skills.

Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues.

Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.

Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail.
