Microsofts Global Media Team is a diverse, collaborative, solutions-oriented team committed to planning, activating, and fiscally managing all media spend across Microsoft. The team works across business groups to tie objectives, insights and innovation together to drive business impact through world-class media strategies, plans and results. The teams responsibilities extend to driving market intelligence and contributing to Microsofts media innovation across media channels and advertising tech.

The Commercial Campaign Analyst role leads campaign measurement and analytics for all Commercial Performance campaigns, including Azure and Microsoft 365 (M365). You will partner closely with Global Media Commercial Performance campaign planning leads, Global Medias ad operations and brand assurance lead, Microsofts agency of record, and other analytics, research, and insight teams across Microsoft to showcase campaign performance, derive impactful insights, and provide strategic recommendations on areas for Commercial Performance campaigns to avoid, optimize and test into. The Commercial Performance campaigns you will shepherd are largely goaled on return on investment (ROI), custom behavioral metrics developed in partnership with internal insights teams and may also include attitudinal metrics (such as purchase intent or preference) and more standard behavioral metrics (such as clicks and view-ability). The analysis you do in this role will be centered in media decision-making and will also help influence creative, site and consumer journey decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Campaign Measurability
  • Safeguard campaign set up for successful measurement including developing measurement and learning plans and ensuring tagging structure allows for measurability.
  • Review and use data to make recommendations to improve campaign performance, media touchpoints and customer journey.
  • Influence Industry Standards
  • Pro-actively monitor the changing media landscape, how it will affect media campaign measurability and recommend testing to evolve with, or ahead of, industry changes.
  • Drive Accountability for All Media Investments
  • Embrace and encourage an audience first lens through which to analyze data.
  • Develop ways to synthesize data through storytelling to allow non-media audiences to understand campaign performance and the impact to the business.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Partner across other Microsoft analytics teams to provide key insights to help with campaign planning.
  • Mange expectations with stakeholders regarding reporting requirements and deliverables, and build and communicate campaign reporting, updates, and end-of-campaign reporting in collaboration with agency of record (AOR) and internal analytics teams.

Qualifications

  • Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related field AND 2+ years experience in media, marketing, or advertising on the client or agency side
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years experience in media, marketing, or advertising on the client or agency side.
  • 6+ years experience working across offline paid media channels (e.g., broadcast TV, cinema, print, audio, out of home [OOH]).
  • 6+ years experience working across digital media channels (e.g., pay-per-lead, social, search engine marketing [SEM], programmatic buying, addressable television [TV]).
  • 6+ years experience using data-driven media tactics, including advanced targeting models, measurement and learning plans, making optimizations based on data.
  • 6+ years experience managing projects (e.g., communications, internal stakeholder management timelines, prioritization, road mapping).
  • 6+ years experience search engine marketing campaigns (e.g., keyword governance, advertising copy creation, audience targeting).
  • 6+ years experience paid social experience (example: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat, Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube).
  • East, Central, Mountain and West Coast time zone locations considered
  • This role will require flexible working hours including West Coast, Europe and Asia time zone meetings.

Media IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $80,900 - $162,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $105,300 - $176,900 per year.
