The Associate Media Director is a Digital Media-fluent, Traditional Media-fluent leader who has a strong relationship with their clients, can translate data into actionable insights and lead the team around them. The Associate Media Director will be a key experimenter, communicator and collaborator with internal personnel, the client team, and creative agency contacts. We are looking for someone with a strong Digital background (and Traditional media experience is a huge plus).

6 + years’ experience in Media Strategy or Planning with a recognized media agency or in-house media planning/buying team
Prior experience leading and managing team members
Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills and demonstrated client relationships

Strong analytic skills and the ability to prioritize
Digital media experience including negotiating, planning and overseeing digital media plans across tactics, from strategy through reporting
Strong working knowledge of the industry and trade, sharing with co-workers and clients
Familiarity with common media research tools like MRI, ComScore, WARC, etc.
Proven project management skills
Effective communication and presentation skills, and a flair for storytelling
Proven ability to develop strong professional relationships
Ability to work autonomously and proactively
Media Planning and Execution
Oversight on all aspects of client’s media services
Runs, prepares, develops, and negotiates media buys
Collaborates with all partners to develop new learning opportunities
Provides meaningful insights and input into existing and emerging media opportunities
Working knowledge of Traditional media including TV, Radio, Print, and Outdoor Media
Has familiarity with common media research tools like MRI, ComScore, Telmar, etc
Has a deep understanding of available media tactics and can provide POVs as needed
Client & Internal Relationships
Responsible for managing and maintaining day to day client relationship including expectations and deliverables
Train, motivate & develop Media Supervisors, Media Planners, Assistant Media Planners
Providing oversight to Media Supervisor and the media team to implement and manage media plan development, negotiation and/or execution
Works closely with client end to end from strategy through reporting utilizing excellent client leadership and management skills
Participates and leads in client and partner calls
Establishes a collaborative working relationship with all cross-department teams
Works with supervisors and junior members to help manage time and ensure successful completion of all projects
Communication
Develops client reports that are clear, compelling and persuasive
Ensures and maintains constant communication between all stakeholders (clients, vendors, internal teams)
Helps develop POVs and meaningful insights
Ensures the team is regularly informed and updated regarding client needs and strategies
