We have an exciting opportunity for a Paid Media and SEO Specialist at UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement, based in our Evanston, IL office.

The Paid Media and SEO Specialist will be responsible for day-to- day management of multiple digital campaigns. This position will work alongside the Amplification team and the digital agency to execute paid search, display, and video campaigns across multiple markets. This includes an emphasis on keyword research and management, analytics, and tracking. The Paid Media and SEO Specialist works closely with the research amplification and communications team, including content creators, and data analysts, to develop effective strategies that align with UL Research Institutes (ULRI) overall objectives.

As the Paid Media and SEO Specialist, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you

  • Develop and implement paid media strategies that align to measurable objectives. Monitor and strategize on branded and unbranded key words to improve organic rankings. Collaborate with content leadership to develop and refine SEO content strategy.
  • Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis and share findings with content and performance teams. Monitor performance of marketing initiatives through monthly reporting pull, analyze, organize, and interpret data.
  • Collaborate on test and learn campaigns and lead agile optimization.
  • Optimize paid search campaigns across various platforms, such as Google Ads, Bing Ads, and social media advertising platforms.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze key metrics, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Conduct A/B testing to optimize campaign performance and increase conversion rates.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, search engine algorithm changes, and best practices in paid media advertising.
  • Develop and execute paid social media campaigns across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • Monitor campaign performance, analyze metrics, and optimize campaigns for maximum reach and engagement. Stay up to date on marketing trends.
  • Provide actionable recommendations for improving campaign effectiveness and achieving marketing goals.
  • Utilize audience targeting and segmentation strategies to deliver personalized ad experiences.
  • Manage vendor and agency partner relationships to implement and manage campaigns on third party advertising platforms.
  • Identify and implement paid media tactics and best practices, including search, display, remarketing, and video ads.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

While no one candidate will embody every quality, the successful candidate will bring many of the following professional competencies and personal attributes

  • In-depth knowledge of paid media platforms, including Google Ads, Bing Ads, and social media advertising platforms (Facebook Ads Manager, Twitter Ads, LinkedIn Ads, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and Google Analytics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on testing and optimization.
  • Creative thinking and ability to develop engaging ad copy and landing pages.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with digital campaigns as well as search engine optimization best practices.
