Paid Media Strategists serve as the primary client contact responsible for managing the strategic development and implementation of paid media programs. This role reports to the VP of Digital Marketing and is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing both the company’s digital marketing strategy and the paid media strategies of our clients in order to build online presence and meet strategic digital marketing objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary contact to clients, continually fostering client-agency relationship to build trust and become a valuable resource and counselor to clients
  • Present campaign strategies to clients and prospects
  • Translate client digital marketing requests into actionable briefs and scopes of work, working with clients to identify goals and measures of success
  • Manage daily workflow of multiple accounts while driving consistent results; report status of account to direct supervisor
  • Manage workflow and delegation of tasks between paid media team members
  • Develop strategic plans for both new business and existing client digital marketing campaigns
  • Develop budgets for paid search, paid social, retargeting ads, and native advertising campaigns
  • Hands-on day-to-day management of SEM campaigns to drive new customers to clients at an effective cost
  • Engage in keyword development and testing and competitive market analysis
  • Integrate paid campaigns with SEO, content marketing and PR programs
  • Consult on website structure, content and landing pages to enhance digital campaign strategies
  • Use analytics resources to measure performance and identify opportunities for optimization
  • Determine and track KPIs and lead client communications in reporting the data and determining actionable next steps to enhance and optimize campaigns
  • Complete competitive analysis reports for new and existing clients
  • Draft clear creative briefs with all necessary content for creative team to design assets
  • Draft, review and approve ad copy such as headlines and body copy
  • Review and approve regular account management activities, such as agendas, recaps, activity reports, checking on creative project schedules and coordination of all necessary materials for client accounts
  • Review and approve ad creative
  • Proficient knowledge in Paid Search Marketing (PPC), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and digital marketing tactics
  • Proficient knowledge in web analytics
  • Command of best practices and trends in PPC, display and paid social marketing
  • Keen understanding of how to both build and convert a digital audience
  • Collaborate with Digital Operations Director to ensure timely delivery of client projects
  • Identify or flag potential new business opportunities
  • Identify and expand client scope and services where applicable

Effective Communication:

  • Strong communicator exhibiting client-facing written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write clear and concise ad copy
  • Ensures accuracy of all written materials
  • Lead client interactions and serve as a consultant for all client needs
  • Ability to confidently field client communication, including strategic account questions
  • Provide direct and constructive feedback to junior team members, supporting them in developing fundamental skill sets
  • Encourages regular feedback from manager and team members
  • Possesses strong presentation skills and can effectively coach other team members to further develop their communication skills accordingly
  • Develops strategic paid media plans and effectively communicates the plan to clients
  • Effectively works with other team members to proactively communicate client priorities and needs

  • Proactively drive agency recommendations and idea generation for clients
  • Manage assigned clients and know when manager/senior leadership review is required vs. when to independently keep accounts moving, providing updates as appropriate
