Position Summary:

The Manager, Paid Media is responsible for supporting the paid media practice and advancing the impact of media across Tyson Foods’ Retail Brands. He/she will be primarily responsible for overseeing Tyson’s digital media investment across Retail Brands (Tyson, Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farm, Ball Park, Aidell’s) owning all media data, effectively collecting, organizing, tracking and analyzing inputs to enhance the greater Tyson media product. They will own the media buy detail–bridging data sets to create new opportunities for growth in paid, owned and emerging media territories.

This person will serve as a connection between Tyson internal cross-functional teams (Brand, Consumer Insights, Analytics) and Media AOR. As they oversee the agency-led media investment and the corresponding execution against brand-specific measurement plans, they will be asked to transact with internal partners at an elevated level, using media industry expertise and campaign-level learnings to inform holistic enterprise-wide POVs, frameworks and processes for the organization.

This person will hold primary responsibility for any internal media reporting needs, e.g. social listening, reach/frequency measurement, financial roll-ups etc.

This person will report to the Director, Paid Media within the Marketing Communication & Design Team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee design and execution of Tyson’s digital media investment practice for Retail Prepared brands:
    • Lead media agency counterpart in development and stewardship of digital media plans and corresponding measurement
    • Serve as primary owner of digital media impression health, deploying enterprise-wide solutions for ad tagging/tracking, brand safety and verification
    • Develop and own bespoke media learning agendas, processes and reports that effectively tie media investment to business outcomes
    • Manage all things media measurement (i.e. media metric dashboard deployment, mid/post media campaign reporting, 3rd party measurement tools, e.g Nielsen DAR, Google Analytics)
    • Recommend and/or evaluate custom media KPIs that support short- and long-term brand growth, effectively tracking media performance vs benchmarks
    • Lead Tyson’s competitive reporting and social listening processes; unearthing insights and creating internal reports as needed
    • Serve as primary contact/owner of Tyson’s digital media vendor relationships, keeping media team apprised of emerging technology, developments in the media and media measurement space.
  • Serve as internal media subject matter expert, regularly interfacing with Brand team and Consumer Insights & Analytics teams:
    • Work across internal Tyson stakeholders and media agency team acting as an influencer, educating both parties on connection between business objectives and media plan priorities
    • Consistently demonstrate media thought leadership, proactively developing marketplace POV’s for the organization
    • Regularly interface with brand teams to deepen understanding of tactical plan nuances and build appreciation for media implications to business
    • Collaborate with media agency & Marketing Analytics on MMM data collection process and outputs
    • Contribute to on-going marketer media education via formalized Marketing Capabilities programming and one-on-one engagements
    • Lead financial / billing process with the agency, centralizing budget management documents, coordinating distribution to internal stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • 6-7 years of experience in media strategy, digital investment and measurement application
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners
  • Media agency experience and/or understanding of agency-side analytics resources a plus
  • Ability to analyze large sets of data to produce succinct and meaningful insights
  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to see the strategic implications for the business
